Achievements

MAW Telecom specializes in providing the Polish Armed Forces with modern communication equipment, navigation systems and engineering vehicles. Due to the number of contracts we have gained, applied ourselves to and completed, we have participated in the modernization of the Polish Army in a tangible, quantifiable way. Below, we depict some of our achievements.

Aviation Navigation

Aviation Navigation

MAW Telecom has been supplying the Polish Army with contemporary navigation systems since 2006. MAW Telecom has provided the Air Force with three TACAN 2010 navigation systems - located in the F-16 bases in Krzesiny, Lask and at the Deblin Polish Air Force Academy. The Polish Navy also obtained a TACAN system in their airbase in Babie Doly. In October 2009, MAW Telecom signed a contract with the National Defense Ministry fro the delivery of two more TACAN 2010 navigation systems which will be installed at the Malbork and Mirosławiec Air Force bases. This equipment is manufactured by the British Fernau Avionics. American non-directional beacons (NDB) which amongst other functions, aid landing planes, are successfully being used at three military units in Nowy Glinnik, Leźnica Wielka and Inowrocław. This is the result of the cooperation between MAW Telecom and the Southern Avionics Company (SAC). We have also supplied the civil aviation sector. The Silesian airport in Pyrzowice uses a Thales Communications instrumental landing system (ILS) system which we have provided. This is a radio navigation system which aids aircraft landing in conditions of limited visibility and low cloud cover.

Aviation Communication

Aviation Communication

At MAW Telecom, providing the army with radio-communication, command and control equipment, is our main business objective. We have been supplying the Air Force with modern Rohde & Schwarz XT452U8 and M3SR radio stations for 10 years now. To date, we have delivered over 200 of them. Currently, these radio stations are being integrated with a national voice control system (VCS), which is being implemented thanks to our partnership with the Austrian company Frequentis. The system, which is being currently being assembled, will link together the Air Force Operations Department and the Command & Liaison Department and provide access to radio stations located in radio bases. Thanks to this, 2010 will see the creation of the largest radio communication network in Polish Air Force history.

Engineering Equipment

Engineering Equipment

By providing military units with the BOŻENA4 demining flails, MAW Telecom has introduced the Polish Army to a new standard of demining equipment. The BOZENA flails have not only been supplied to three military engineering units in Poland, but are also serving as part of the Polish military contingent in Afghanistan. Everyday, the Bozena flails are confirming their endurance and reliability, particularly in difficult climate conditions. The Polish Army acquired this equipment thanks to the cooperation between MAW Telecom and the Slovak WAY Industry.

Mobile Land Radio-Communication

Mobile Land Radio-Communication

MAW Telecom is a definite forerunner in the field of secure communication systems for the army. Thanks to a contract between MAW Telecom and the National Ministry of Defense, the Polish Armed Forces acquired their first ever mobile phones in 1993. Three years later, we built, activated and launched a national radio communication system for the protection of military property and assets and provided the Polish military contingent in former Yugoslavia with radio communication equipment. In 2003, the army began using the TETRA system we supplied them with. Thus far, MAW Telecom has supplied numerous military units with portable and static TETRA systems, including the Polish military contingent in Iraq. The digital TETRA system we installed in the central military institutions in Warsaw, is the largest communication system of its kind in Poland. Meeting the needs and expectations of the Polish Armed Forces, MAW Telecom designed and delivered their own product - a Digital Mobile Trunking MST11IP system, in the years 2007 - 2008. This system allows work in extreme weather conditions and can easily be transported by land, sea or air. Mobile Land Radio-Communication The TETRA system has also been implemented at three military airports (Łask, Powidz and Poznań Krzesiny) as well as Katowice International Airport (since 2008). Our long-lasting partnership with the Motorola, guarantees the professionalism and modernity of our equipment. Since 2007, MAW Telecom has been Motorola's number 1 Distributor for Poland and one of the leaders for Eastern Europe, the Middle East and Africa (EMEA). During this year's convention for Motorola's EMEA Region Distributors, we received the very prestigious award for the world's best seller of Tetra systems. Apart from all the TETRA systems we have installed, MAW Telecom has set up an ARC4000 digital trunking communication system, in the ASTRO 25 standard, for the needs of the Special Forces, and delivered over 700 ASTRO radiotelephones for various special forces units.

MAW Telecom also cooperates with other reputable radio-communication equipment manufacturers. The delivery of Thales Communications' MBITR AN/PRC-148 radio stations, EF Johnson Technologies' radiotelephones with digital encryption modules and Selex Communications' In the Ear (ITE) hearing protection systems to the Special Forces was the result of this cooperation.
